Selkie

Selkie are the duo Liz. Thomson and Hector Gilchrist. Their music is mainly drawn for the tradition of the British Isles but also contains some modern folk ballads. Hector is well known for his interest in & performance of the songs of Robert Burns. Liz sings with a group performing Gaelic waulking songs.

Selkie are the duo Liz. Thomson and Hector Gilchrist. Their sensitive and easy style of harmony singing has been heard at clubs and festivals across the U.K. and Ireland, with occasional visits further afield. Their music is mainly drawn for the tradition of the British Isles but also contains some modern folk ballads. Hector is well known for his interest in & performance of the songs of Robert Burns. Liz was brand manager at Dalwhinnie Distillery in the Scottish Highlands and sings with a group performing Gaelic waulking songs. Selkie have been played on many national & international radio stations and their recordings on the WildGoose label have been praised in the folk press.
